Jonathan “Jo” Melville is a PhD candidate in chemistry in the Surendranath Group at MIT. His research is concerned with the development of sustainable alternative electrochemical catalysts for existing industrial processes, so as to better enable nonlegacy fertilizer and sanitary chemical production in developing regions. A graduate of UC Berkeley, Jo is also passionate about electoral politics, mental health awareness, and social justice.
