Abhinav is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in the same field from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He was a recipient of the S.N. Bose Scholarship, offered to select undergraduates to perform research in the United States. Pursuant to the scholarship, he worked at MIT on methods for learning ocean ecosystem models.

At MIT, Abhinav is currently working on developing state-of-the-art, data-driven, predictive ocean models for sustainable management and conservation of coastal ecosystems. He is passionate about making advances in technology the enabler of socio-economic upliftment for marginal communities.

Apart from research, his hobbies include aeromodelling, playing badminton, and cooking Indian food.
