John is a Masters of Engineering student in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and works as a research assistant at the D-Lab.

His research involves combining computer vision, machine learning and augment reality into mobile applications, to automate the process of diagnostic/medical data measurement and collection. His projects aim to provide diagnostic assistance for urinalysis, as well as to empower community health workers to screen mothers and children for multiple health conditions.

He graduated from MIT in 2015 with his Bachelors, after which he worked at Facebook Inc. and Google Inc. At the D-Lab, he also serves as a technical advisor to the server groups, mainly in charge of server infrastructure and security.
