Murthy is a second year S.M. candidate in the Mechanical Engineering graduate program. He received his undergraduate B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Before MIT, he worked as a design engineer at 3M India. Currently, he is part of Prof. Amos Winter’s GEAR lab at MIT. The intersection of rigorous engineering and elegant product design is what interests him, particularly in the current socio-economic context of India. In his spare time, he likes to play squash and soccer, cook spicy Indian food and read random articles on wikipedia.
