Ruoyu is a first-year student of Building Technology Program from the Department of Architecture at MIT. She is interested in the interplay between the built environment, anthropogenic emissions of heat and pollutants and their impacts. She’s now studying atmospheric modeling of agriculture residue burning in megacities to inform sustainable interventions regarding the impacts of burning and associated emissions in urban areas.
Before joining MIT, Ruoyu obtained her BS in Atmospheric Science in Sun Yat-sen University, where she engaged in atmospheric chemistry modeling research with a focus in urban areas. She enjoys a wide range of hobbies from playing the piano, sketching, jogging, and traveling.
